Fascinating piece of American naval history. Painted pine sailors chest having plaque that reads “Lieut. Lord”. brackets, clippings and probably the flag were added later by Lord who was in charge of the reconstruction of the famous 44 gun American frigate USS Constitution “Old Ironsides”, hero of WAR of 1812. Presumably the trunk belonged to Lord.
