Art

Very unusual set of 6 framed pastel or conti crayon drawings on black paper of American jazz men by Charles Delaunay. Signed and dated early 1930s by Delaunay, the drawings were drawn from life in Paris jazz clubs. Identifications for all musicians, including an early Louis Armstrong, who signed his picture. Delaunay, son of 2 well-known French artists, was himself best known for starting Le Jazz Hot, an early French jazz magazine and several early French jazz record labels. A unique treasure for the serious jazz lover. Sold as set 6 only. Each a different size.
